Experience

I have seven years of professional writing experience in government and industry, and well as online college-level tutoring experience in composition. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of South Florida and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Lesley University. I love tutoring because it allows me to engage one-on-one with students and make a genuine difference in their education. My passion is creative writing, and I believe that such passion fosters relational learning between my students and me. My tutoring experience includes online writing instruction for composition topics, such as thesis development, organization, content development, introductions and conclusions, MLA/APA styles, transitions, grammar, sentence structure, and word choice. My previous position as a technical writer included training teachers and students in the use of a student information system. This role included learning strategy development and assessment for new student software. As a technical writer, I helped to develop programs for grading, attendance, discussion forums, and student assessment. I wrote video scripts and help documents used to train teachers how to create course websites and grade student assignments using Focus software. At CAE USA, I wrote government proposals, led writing teams, conducted research, produced marketing documents, led meetings, and created interactive presentations.
