I am a tutor who excels in math. I'm available to tutor pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, middle school math, and other mathematics courses. I can also help students prepare for the math portion of the SAT. I pursued my love of math and education at Salem State University, where I received my degree. I have been tutoring students since I was in high school, and while I was in college I helped students with their math course work. I have worked with students as a high school math teacher at St. Mary's High School in Massachusetts. I have always been successful at helping those who struggle with mathematics. As an educator it is important to be flexible. Every student learns differently, and if you don't have a variety of teaching methods then you're likely to leave many students behind. I try to show all of my students multiple ways to solve complex math problems so that they can decide which method works best for them. It is my goal to create a positive environment in which my students can develop their math skills and achieve academic success. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy playing basketball and partaking in some Frisbee golf.
