Experience
As a tutor, I've worked with students on many different subjects, but my passion is for military history. I received my master's degree in history from the American Military University, and I can teach the history of much of the world, spanning Ancient Rome to now and focusing on US history. I enjoy learning and tutoring political science, as well, because this subject helps make history. As a certified military history teacher, I work with college students daily in both small discussion groups and also individually, to help them learn more about history and historical conflicts. Too many history classes use rote memorization to force students to learn names, dates, and places, which doesn't instill any reason for a student to care about (or remember) how a new country or culture was formed or the events of a particular point in history.Aside from just my passion for history and politics, I enjoy tutoring students who are learning English as a second language, so they can properly use English grammar and learn new vocabulary. History is a living organism, and I hope my passion for the subject helps my students see that learning historical patterns will improve their understanding of the world they live in.
