Private tutor in Tampa, FL
University of South Florida-Main Campus - BS, Cellular and Molecular Biology
I completed my undergraduate degree in Cellular, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology at the University of South Florida last December. If not for my calling to become a doctor, I definitely would have become a teacher. My fondness for teaching actually started early in my life as my parents requested that I help the children they were babysitting with their homework assignments. I went on to assist middle school children whenever my nephew, niece, and their peers required my assistance.I learned early on that there is no single learning methodology that can be used to help all children. So it is important to get to know each individual student to understand how they learn best, which is helpful when trying to figure out how to go about explaining complex concepts and ideas in a way they can process. Having the patience to do this is also important because it provides a way to challenge students -- without pushing too hard -- to expect more out of themselves. As such, I create a lesson plan that is unique to each student. My conviction is that is that any student is capable of learning anything if he or she is ready to work hard and if the tutor has the right approach and game plan. While tutoring in Biology is my passion, I can also help students with American History. In terms of hobbies and special interests, I enjoy reading books, doing judos, playing soccer, and gaming.
