I am a tutor who is passionate about learning and teaching and I want to be able to pass that enthusiasm on to others. I have experience working with children of varying ages, both in the classroom and in other activities. I enjoy tutoring high school students in subjects such as reading, the grammar and mechanics of writing, and literature, as well as how to properly write essays. I can also assist with preparing students for standardized exams such as the SAT and PSAT and help them with the process of applying to college. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy teaching children how to ride on horseback. Teaching riding lessons has shown me how to work with students of all ages, as well as the fact that not all children can be taught in the same manner. It is important to find what works to motivate each individual. I am a graduate of St. Lawrence University with degrees in English and Government. I feel as if it took a lot of skill and dedication in order to be able to succeed in these areas and that those are skills that I can help cultivate in other students. I also enjoy reading, writing, and snorkeling.
