Experience
As a language arts teacher, I have experience working with students not just on the subject matter, but also on their study and organizational skills. I enjoy teaching, and I try to impart more than just a knowledge of the material when I am helping a student. Being the kind of teacher that a student can look up to is something that is very important to me and I think that children need someone that can be a good influence for them. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology and my Master of Education in Middle Grades English from the University of Michigan and the University of Tampa. While in college I spent time during school breaks working with middle school aged campers, which was a good way to learn more about how to best help that particular age group. In addition to time spent tutoring, I have been teaching full time at a middle school for more than three years. I am able to tutor in math, reading and writing skills, literature, writing essays, grammar and mechanics, and English. When not teaching, I like to read, play kickball, play the piano, watch sports, build with LEGOs, and cook.
