I am Sandra Russell, a 35-year veteran teacher and I am excited to be your tutor. I have a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and a Masters in ESL. I have taught languages (English and Spanish) for more than 20 years at all education levels: elementary, middle, high school, University and adult learners with great success! My experiences teaching diverse student populations from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, North,South and Central America, and the Caribbean allowed me to develop cultural sensitivity in my teaching practices. Teaching languages requires patience and sensitivity because learning a language is closely tied to a person's feelings. Having studied Spanish, I can easily put myself in your shoes. Therefore, patience and sensitivity are among my most important tools as a teacher and tutor. I am equipped to teach all levels: beginning, intermediate and advanced ESL in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. I am a certified Reading Specialist, and a Mediation and Conflict Resolution Specialist. I've been recognized as a highly established teacher in ESL receiving the HOUSSE recognition. I am patient and will not stop until you have successfully mastered whatever topic you are studying. You are always encouraged and given strategies that would help you think critically, understand, and learn at a progressive rate.
