Education

Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Tampa. While there, I held several positions in the math club, was a part of the math honor society Pi Mu Epsilon, and performed original math research. I took about 13 math classes and several literature classes. I was 1 class away from an English minor. So I have an especially well rounded background for tutoring math, English and test preparation.

Experience

I started as a volunteer tutor through the Math Clinic (a free service I co-founded) at the University of Tampa. After, that I began working as a professional tutor through other local tutoring agencies. Eventually, I became an independent tutor. For over 5 years, I have been helping students achieve amazing results through my compassionate approach and unique gift for troubleshooting problem areas. ASVAB 99th percentile GRE 159 Q 161 V I am passionate about tutoring. I think my dedication is best shown through testimonials from my students. *Testimonials* With the little time I had to prepare for my Act(almost a month), I went from an 11 in my reading to a passing score of a 19. I am truly grateful for what Amy has done for me. Giselle Anderson, Tampa Amy helped me with calculus and it was a breeze with her. She knows her math very well as if it is second nature to her. Passed my class with an amazing grade. Without her I would have had to struggle and barely have passed if that. She is flexible with her schedule which is amazing for when you need an extra class or two for review. Amy is easy to talk to and very kind hearted. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs help in the math department. Thanks again for everything Amy!! P.S. ~ passed my final with flying colors!!! Chris Demoura, Tampa My daughter had been struggling with math since the first grade. She entered second grade and the struggle became worse. That is, until we found Amy! After a month of tutoring with Amy, my daughter's math grade on her next report card went from below level (which it had been for the first two grading periods), to on level, for the first time this year! Hobbies

I love to sing. I was classically trained in opera and hindustani vocals. I also did competitive ballroom dancing for several years. I've always created art. Typically, I paint in oils or watercolors. Recently, I've become more interested in ink and wash illustrations and Chinese brush painting. I used to make artisan handmade soap. I would love start again when I get a chance. :-) I enjoy foreign languages and cultures. I can speak conversational Spanish and Japanese and several phrases in Hindi and Korean. I am a member of American Mensa and the national math honor society, Pi Mu Epsilon.
