Experience
I am a graduate of UCLA. I enjoyed teaching science and math in Washington DC, but I left to pursue an intense pre-medical program at Georgetown University. I am applying to medical schools and preparing for the MCAT. While I was doing this, I moved to Florida. I am excited to infuse my background in teaching with my new knowledge of subjects in science (like genetics, organic, and basic chemistry) with the students to help them do well in school. I am a licensed teacher and have taught second grade to college age students. I believe as a teacher that I impact the opinions of the students towards the subjects I teach. This has been evidenced with students I have had in my science and math classes, who came in with trepidation and, by the time the class was over, left saying it was a favorite subject of theirs. I am an experienced teacher with a vast array of knowledge teaching many subjects and ages, but my specialty is math in middle school. When I tutor, there is a great sense of accomplishment for me when the students begin to really enjoy the subject they are studying, as well as excel in it. I constantly strive to build exceptional study habits as well as confidence in each student I tutor, and I try to assist them in excelling in more than the subject we are working on.
