Nicole T.
Private tutor in Tampa, FL
Education
I have a B.S. in Biomolecular Science from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. I graduated in 2014 with Honors, and a GPA of 3.98. I am currently working as a research technician at the University of South Florida. Throughout college I spent my summers working in research labs at various universities. At Clarkson University I worked in polymer and analytical chemistry, at Carnegie Mellon University I worked in evolutionary biology, and at the Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris I worked in biochemistry.
Experience
At Clarkson University I was a teaching assistant in General Chemistry for 2 years. I independently led discussion and laboratory courses, and worked one on one with students during office hours. I received excellent teaching evaluations and feedback from students. I also received for the Edward D. Sayer Award, which is awarded to a teaching assistant who has demonstrated superior contributions to the chemistry program. In addition to this, I worked as a private tutor for General Chemistry and for Genetics. I reviewed material from lectures, and set up the material in a different way to help them understand topics that were unclear in class. Afterwards, I helped the students work through relevant questions. Since moving to Florida, I have tutored in high school and college biology and chemistry, along with high school math. The students I tutor have shown substantial improvement in their courses. I understand that all students learn differently, and I always make sure to ask students if the way I am teaching works for them, so I can make changes if necessary.

Hobbies
Science is my passion, and I love working in a research lab. When I'm not at work, you can usually find me at the dog park or taking my dog on a long walk. Since I'm from the cold snowy north, I spend as much time as possible at the beach on weekends, where I like to hang out and read a good mystery novel.
