Juan M.
Private tutor in Tampa, FL
Education
Biological Sciences B.S. Magna cum laude with Departmental Honors, Florida International University Currently, I am a medical student at USF Morsani College of Medicine.
Experience
I have been tutoring math and science since 2004. I've always had a knack for breaking down complex subjects into simpler, easy to digest concepts. This is a useful skill I employ on a daily basis in the clinic. I have to educate my patients about the conditions they live with and teach them ways to manage and control their illnesses. Prior to medical school I was a Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, where I studied complex brain networks using state-of-the art imaging technologies. I have taken this expertise to USF where we are developing methods to identify at-risk individuals with mental illness. I am fluent in Spanish and have experience tutoring in Spanish. Fellowships/Awards: Research Internship, Weill Cornell Medical College, Manhattan, NY NIH MARC USTAR Fellow, Florida International University, Miami, Fl Research Fellow, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD
